User guide
Follow everyday work from setting up a managed space, through enrolling a person's face, to checking a recognition event on the display. The steps below use a campus accommodation deployment as an example; other sites can follow the same flow with the space fields and device protocols in their delivery plan.
New to the system? Start with the system overview, then complete one test using the quick start. For an existing installation, choose the task you need below.
Start with your work
| Your work | What to complete first | Read |
|---|---|---|
| Site and space management | Set up spaces, maintain person records, verify assignments | Admin console and central service |
| On-site enrollment | Verify identity, capture a clear photo, check the saved record | Enrollment terminal |
| Installation and technical support | Configure connectivity, connect devices, verify synchronization and event delivery | System deployment |
| Duty staff | Check display connectivity, verify the latest recognition, record exceptions | Display |
These roles describe responsibilities. The permissions available to an account depend on the configuration of the delivered environment.
Find the task you need
| I want to… | Start here | Expected outcome |
|---|---|---|
| Use a new installation | Quick start | One test person passes enrollment, device recognition, and display checks |
| Maintain sites, buildings, and rooms | Admin console and central service | Correct spatial hierarchy, room information, and capacity configuration |
| Enroll or replace a face photo | Enrollment terminal | The central photo is updated and the target device confirms receipt |
| Show a recognition result on screen | Display terminal | A new event matches the person, time, and result observed on site |
| Connect a recognition device | Face recognition devices | Heartbeat, personnel synchronization, and event delivery are verified |
| Investigate “online but not working” | Troubleshooting | Identify whether the interruption is in connectivity, business data, the device, or the display |
Four parts working together
The admin console and central service maintain sites, people, spaces, and device relationships. Administrators use a browser to manage records; the central service handles interfaces, business data, and device synchronization.
The enrollment terminal sits at the registration point. It reads identity cards, captures live photos, and submits personnel information to the central service. The room selected during enrollment helps look up residents; verify the actual room assignment in the admin console.
Face recognition devices perform recognition and use their configured protocols to receive personnel and report heartbeats and events. Compatibility depends on the device protocol and site configuration.
The display receives recent recognition events and shows device counts and central service connectivity. Local and cloud modes obtain events through different paths.
Three everyday checks
- Verify the person before submitting. The name, personnel ID, and photo must belong to the same person. The same ID is used for later lookups and updates.
- Check the saved data. A terminal notification, a central record, and a device record represent separate steps. Confirm the central record before checking synchronization.
- Read the time as well as the status. Node availability, device availability, and central connectivity have different meanings. An old display record does not verify a new recognition.
Hand over a problem clearly
Find the symptom in troubleshooting. Give the administrator or technician the time, building, terminal type, last successful step, and redacted error text. Keep personnel IDs available for internal checks; hide names, identity numbers, faces, and connection credentials in public screenshots.
